Tips for skin care - Men

Ideally, men should follow a multi-step skin care process:

  1. Exfoliate 3X a week. That is, use a mild facial scrub to remove the dry, damaged skin surface. Neutrogena products like the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub was cited as a favorite for this task.
  2. Use a facial cleanser everyday; not soap. The Body Shoppe soap-free wash was mentioned as a favorite because it contains menthol, leaving your skin feeling revived and "squeaky clean."
  3. After washing always apply a thin, base moisturizer that hydrates the skin and that doesn't clog pores. Consider Clinique Maximum Hydrator for Men
  4. When preparing in the morning-regardless of clouds or the fact you're spending the day indoors--add a layer of sunscreen over the moisturizer. The sunscreen that's at least 30 SPF.
