Tips for handphones user

Tips 1
If you have an AP set with Vodafone or T-Mobile logo, it means that your phone might be locked. Those Vodafone or T-Mobile are the service operators in the UK and that's where the phones come from. Not all AP sets have the logo. AP sets are Approved Products which means that these products are certified by sirim that your product is safe to use.

In other words, AP product not brought in by the authorised distributor like Midland, T-Choice for SE, Avaxx or Zitron for Nokia, FMG for Samsung and etc. The phones can even come from Singapore and may even have the M1, Singtel or Starhub logo. Remember to check the phone if it is locked especially those from Singapore and Vodafone.

Tips 2
AP sets has different level of QC. Big AP companies like Final Choice, GTMAX, Nefion, Telstra, O'Connors have extensive QC checks. Others like MSL, YS, PLANTRONICS or names not mentioned above, are slightly cheaper than the above. Whether they replaced their parts with other stuff, its another question.

Tips 3
AP set actually pay government tax but is juz that they are not taxed by the Local Authorised Dealer. AP set is normally distributed by small handphones companies and they might stop business anytime.Futhermore if there's major damage on your AP set, the AP companies might not have enough equiptment to fix it. At the end, they still have to send it to the authorized dealer (eg. Zitron, Avaxx).

Tips 4
Like what everyone else have said, a phone without a sirim sticker is considered as illegal and thus cannot be sold here. But I'm gonna assume that if the phone is not available here, it should be better. And besides, if you bought the phone from overseas and bring it back here to use, don't tell me it would be illegal to use it right?
Speaking of buying a waterset from a shop, they might say that you did not inspect it properly before buying and thus you are at fault. So yeah guys, if you wanna buy a phone, do yourselves a favor and do these few things:
Check for sirim sticker (this is a MUST. Everyone should know this).Cross check IMEI numbers on the phone and the boxAsk for warranty card.Ask if the warranty card needs to be sent to wherever necessary.Check all the features of the phone (iow, play with the phone, make sure everything is working).Check for dead pixels.Check the firmware if possible (*#0000# for most nokias). This way, you can check if it's old stock or not.And of course, make sure you get the propper set. As in nothing missing like the handsfree and stuff.

Sorry, deviated a bit from what is a waterset, but really, people should know these stuff to avoid getting cheated.

Btw, watersets are usually sold without accesories, only phone and charger. So sometimes if you add up buying the accesories elsewhere, it might cost near the same as buying a proper set

There are recon set might be known as water set, so beware while you buying.Recon set are second hand handphones from overseas, they juz change the phone cover (might not be original cover) and do some servicing inside and sell it as an AP set with warranty 1 year summore. As I know FMG will not fix phones other than FMG warranty handset (even they are paid they will not fix)

Fashion tips for women

Body frame:
  1. If you are plump, avoid sleeveless cuts. Wear dark colors rather than going in for lighter shades and if you wish to wear lighter shades then prefer dull colors like instead of sky blue go in for dull blue or dirty blue. Small prints and vertical line prints give a slimmer look. Heavy built should avoid cotton sarees and Kota sarees and should instead attire oneself in Chiffon and Georgette sarees.
  2. If you have a medium structure, you should choose beige and fawn colors. With this kind of constitution, you can dress yourself in georgette saree or satin. In case of blouses, prefer nets, as they are a great help in disguising physical flaws. If you are thin, you can carry off well in all colors. The entire range of beautiful shades will suit you. Sleeveless, deep cuts and strapped blouses can also be worn.

Skin tone:

  1. If your complexion is fair, gold with a blend of copper would look wonderful. If you are medium/ wheatish colored, go in for mixed shades of white, beige and bronzy golden. Dark skin toned should wrap up themselves with goldenish copper shades.

Comfort level and personal attitude:

  1. Your comfort level becomes an equally important determinant in deciding your style. If you do not feel very comfortable wearing western outfits but at the same time want to maintain a smart cosmopolitan look, Indo western style would add on charm to your personality.
  2. If you are shy introvert types, then you can carry yourself better in a sari with boat necked or square necked blouses.
  3. If you are bold and outspoken type, you can choose to pick up sleeveless, deep-necked blouses or may be with straps.

So, whether you go in for hip-hop style or classic style fashion, it should coincide with your personality.

Tips for skin care - Men

Ideally, men should follow a multi-step skin care process:

  1. Exfoliate 3X a week. That is, use a mild facial scrub to remove the dry, damaged skin surface. Neutrogena products like the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub was cited as a favorite for this task.
  2. Use a facial cleanser everyday; not soap. The Body Shoppe soap-free wash was mentioned as a favorite because it contains menthol, leaving your skin feeling revived and "squeaky clean."
  3. After washing always apply a thin, base moisturizer that hydrates the skin and that doesn't clog pores. Consider Clinique Maximum Hydrator for Men
  4. When preparing in the morning-regardless of clouds or the fact you're spending the day indoors--add a layer of sunscreen over the moisturizer. The sunscreen that's at least 30 SPF.

Travel smart

Hi there,

Just to share with all the 10 tips before you start your travel:

  1. If you are not sure where to go for your vacation, use the Internet. Many airlines websites offer travel tips about beach bolt-holes, diving spots, cultural hot spots, world heritage sites and etc.
  2. Fork out some petty cash for decent travel insurance.
  3. Keep an eye on joint airline-hotel promotions in the newspaper and websites.
  4. If you can help it, avoid holidays during the high seasons that is, unless you like crowds, long queues and paying extra for hotel rooms and restaurants.
  5. Book the hotel well in advance and confirm your reservations a few days before arrival.
  6. Lock in yur favourite seat by checking online.
  7. Pack light. That means one good coat (if the destination is cold), miniature toiletries (it is all about decanting into small bottles), one pair of dressy shoes and one for the plane, and tell yourself that if you need anything else, you can always buy it.
  8. Invest in a vacuum seal bag ( or two) and save considerable amount of luggage space. Slip in a spare foldable bag for the inevitable extra retail haul.
  9. Include in your cabin bag a pair of bedroom slippers, especially if it is a long flight. Feet swell at high altitudes, and do you really want to stretch those precious Manolos unnecessarily?
  10. That old chestnut about drinking lots of water while on board is true. And moisturise like your life depends on it. You need to look fabulous, not shrivelled, in the party pages of the glossy society magazine highlighting the destination you are jetting to.

Makeups Tips

Before applying any makeup, you should clean your face with water, which has a pinch of soda bicarbonate in it. Then apply ice cubes on the face. This enables the makeup to last longer.

  1. Concealer
Concealer is used to hide dark circles around the eyes, and is also used to cover blemishes and scars. A beige concealer is ideal for dark skins and one with natural tones for fairer skins. This should be spread evenly using a dry sponge or your fingers. Now, apply the foundation.
  2. Translucent powder
This powder is used to dust the face. This helps the foundation to stay on longer. Excess powder should be brushed off. Blusher should be blended evenly along the cheekbones.
  3. Foundation
This is used to enhance the colour of the complexion. Three basic types may be used, depending upon your skin type. For dry skin, liquid foundation works best whereas semi-liquid is best for combination skins. Foundation can be applied with a sponge and blended into the hairline and along the jaw for a natural finish.
  4. Eyes
Eye shadow colours should be selected carefully, light shadow is applied on to the lids to create a base. Darker eye shadow is then used at the outer corners of the eyes to enhance the eyes. A kajal or kohl stick can be used in the inner eyelid to make the eyes appear even more dramatic. Mascara applied to the lashes increases this effect. Eyebrows should be sharp and tidy and should be free of all traces of makeup.
  5. Lips
The lips should be outlined with a lip liner, so that the lipstick does not bleed. Lipstick is then applied and blended with the lip liner. Then dust your lips with powder so that the lipstick lasts for a longer period of time, and then apply the last coat.
    Smart ways to use lipstick
Application of lipstick is an art in itself. You can achieve different kinds of look with different techniques of applying lip colour. You can create a sexy pout and make thin lips look full.
    To plump a puny pout
Avoid dark burgundy, red or plum lip hues - they’ll make lips look skinnier. Create the illusion of fuller lips with dark nude liner and lighter nude lipstick. Line all the way around the outside of your natural lip line. Next, apply your lipstick.
    To shrink a seismic smacker
Steer close of glosses, shimmers or light lipsticks, which inflate lip size. Dark matte plum and burgundies paired with matching liners are a better bet. Use the liner tracing all the way around the inside of your lip line. Fill in your mouth with matching lipstick.

Tips for choosing food and fruits

Broccoli:
Research has revealed that a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol can combat breast cancer by converting a cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective riety. The pytochemical sulforaphane raises the levels of certain cancer-fighting enzymes that defend the body from cigarette smoke, fumes, pesticides & other known carcinogens.

Papaya:
Its plentiful store of vitamin C works as an antioxidant and may also reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Papaya contains folacin (also known as folic acid), which has been shown to minimize cervical ysplasia and certain other cancers.

Garlic:
Garlic’s immune-enhancing allium compounds block carcinogens from entering cells and slow tumor development. Diallyl sulfide, a component of garlic oil, has also been shown to render carcinogens in the liver inactive. Studies have linked garlic - as well as onions, leeks, and chives - to lower risk of stomach and colon cancer.

Kale:
Research has shown that indoles, nitrogen compounds found in kale and other leafy greens, may help stop the conversion of certain lesions to cancerous cells in estrogen-sensitive tissues. In addition, isothiocyanates, phytochemicals found in kale, are thought to suppress tumor growth and block cancer-causing substances from reaching their targets.

Sweet Potato:
This nutrient-dense food contains many anti-cancer properties. It is loaded with beta-carotene, which may protect DNA in the cell nucleus from cancer-causing chemicals outside the nuclear membrane.

Grapefruit:
Grapefruits, like oranges and other citrus fruits, contain monoterpenes, believed to help prevent cancer by sweeping carcinogens out of the body. Some studies show that grapefruit can inhibit the proliferation of breast-cancer cells in vitro. It also contains vitamin C, beta-carotene, and folic acid.

Avocado:
Avocados are rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free radicals in the body by blocking intestinal absorption of certain fats. Ounce for ounce, avocados also supply 60 percent more potassium than bananas and are a strong source of beta-carotene.

Seaweed:
Seaweed and other sea vegetables contain beta-carotene, protein, vitamin B12, fiber, and chlorophyll, as well as chlorophylones - important fatty acids that may help in the fight against breast cancer. Also, many sea vegetables have a high concentration of minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and iodine.

Tofu:
Soy contains several types of phytoestrogens - weak, nonsteroidal estrogens that could help prevent both breast and prostate cancer by blocking and suppressing cancerous changes. Genistein, a type of phytoestrogen, also lowers breast-cancer risk by inhibiting the growth of epithelial cells & new blood vessels that tumors require to flourish.

Tips to sleep well

We all have too much to do, so take time out and recharge yourself by getting a good night's sleep. The quality and quantity of your sleep can make all the difference in how productive you'll be the next day. Here are ten tips to help you get the sleep you need and deserve.
  1. Maintain a regular bed and wake time schedule, including weekends.
  2. Establish a regular, relaxing bedtime routine such as soaking in a hot bath or hot tub and then reading a book or listening to soothing music.
  3. Create a sleep-conducive environment that is dark, quiet, comfortable and cool.
  4. Sleep on a comfortable mattress and pillows.
  5. Use your bedroom only for sleep and sex. It is best to take work materials, computers and televisions out of the sleeping environment.
  6. Finish eating at least two to three hours before your regular bedtime.
  7. Exercise regularly. It is best to complete your workout at least a few hours before bedtime.
  8. Avoid nicotine (e.g., cigarettes, tobacco products). Used close to bedtime, it can lead to poor sleep.
  9. Avoid caffeine (e.g., coffee, tea, soft drinks, chocolate) close to bedtime. It can keep you awake.
  10. Avoid alcohol close to bedtime. It can lead to disrupted sleep later in the night.

Wardrobe essentials

  1. Your wardrobe is incomplete without at least one crisp white shirt with a collar stay so you can wear it with a tie. Invest well and buy a good brand, which you can wear at work or out at night. Go in for button-up formal shirts, and stick to basic colours like blue and white. Once you?ve built up your wardrobe you can go in for more dramatic shades.
  2. You can never go wrong with a V-necked knit t-shirt or sweaters with full sleeves. You can wear this by itself, or under a jacket.
  3. Instead of the traditional banyaan, wear a short-sleeved white t-shirt under your shirts. Not only does this look better, but it also prevents underarm sweat stains on your crisp shirt.
  4. It?s better to have one pair of nice, expensive pants than several pairs of cheap pants. Repeat the mantra: quality over quantity. While men don?t usually have dress pants and they would wear the same pair of work pants in the evening, one pair of dress pants wouldn?t hurt. Opt for a navy blue pair.
  5. Get yourself a couple of khaki pants for daily wear.
  6. Stay away from pleats! Go in for pants with a flat front.
  7. The most basic of them all ? blue jeans. Get yourself a standard pair of blue jeans. Don?t go in for the ripped or faded look no matter how avant-garde it is, unless the trendy jeans are just one of your 7 pairs. Even then, standard dark blue jeans look the best, and these can always be worn out at night as well. Make sure they fit you well. They shouldn?t be too tight or too baggy.
  8. Everybody knows that the first thing a woman notices in a man are his shoes, and then, perhaps his watch. So you can imagine how important accessories are. Luckily for men, they don?t need to invest in a dozen shoes as women do. Two or three pairs should do the trick. One formal pair, one casual, and one pair of sneakers are all you really need. Invest well in your formal shoes. They may be expensive, but if you wear them well they can last and last. There?s just no excuse for wearing torn, worn out shoes.
  9. Buy yourself the nicest watch you can afford without creating a big dent in your savings. Once again, don?t go in for something too flashy or too sporty. A simple watch with straight, classy lines should do the trick. If possible, avoid the leather strap and go in for a silver strap.
  10. Keep ties simple and basic. Don?t go in for cartoony figures and the likes unless you want to look like a dork. If a certain style of tie is in fashion, get yourself one of those and wear it every once in a while.
  11. And finally, for heaven?s sake, no jewellery! No gold chains or gold bracelets. If you?re married, you?re allowed a wedding ring, and cufflinks are fine. If you have a kada, that?s allowed too. It?s alright to wear beads or a black thread with a pendant around your neck if you?re going in for the baseball or basket ball player look, which includes loose shirts and baggy trousers, but unless you?re a snappy dresser already (in which case what are you reading this for?) it?s possible to get this look wrong. It?s best to just lay off the jewellery.

10 Tips what you can do to help

YES, you can help tackle the problem of climate change and avert a disaster. You can cut your CO2 (carbon dioxide) footprint by doing some very simple things:

  1. Switch off lights and air-conditioning when you leave room.
  2. Switch off your computer or TV when you are not using it. In Britain, it has been estimated that an office wastes $18,000 each year by leaving equipment on over weekends. Each time you leave a monitor on night, it uses enough energy to print 5,300 copies.
  3. On a hot day, close the blinds instead of making the air-conditioning colder.
  4. Unplug charges for your mobile or your cameras when they are not in use.
  5. Take shorter shower as heating water means more energy is used. Washing your clothes at a lower temperature also helps.
  6. Use energy-efficient appliances. New refrigerators, for example, use 40 per cent less energy than models made just 10 years ago. Also, compact fluorescent "spiral" bulbs are 75 per cent more efficient than standard bulbs.
  7. Drive less. A typical car produces three times its weight in CO2 emissions. If you must, use lighter cars which produce fewer transport, walk or cycle to work.
  8. Vacation closer to home. Avoid flying as it is said to account of between 4 and 9 per cent of the total climate change impact of human activity.
  9. Recycle to save the energy needed to make more plastic, glass, aluminium, paper and cardboard.
  10. Bring your own shopping bags to the supermarket. Reduce the use of plastic bags.

Know your almonds

  1. There are two types of almonds: sweet, which are used for culinary purposes, and bitter, which are not edible and used in the making of oils and flavourings such as almond essences.
  2. When buying almond in shell, shake them. If they rattle a lot, it is asign that the nut is shrinking and therefore ageing.
  3. California is the world's largest producer almonds, shipping to more than 90 countries, with Germany and Japan being the largest importers.
  4. The early European tradition of wrapping sugar-coated almonds in sheer netting and presenting them to wedding guest symbolised fertility, happiness, romance, good health and fortune.
  5. Sweden employs almond as a symbol of good fortune at Christmas time; serving rice pudding with an almond hidden in one of the servings. The one who finds it can expect an especially good year.
  6. One belief holds that eating almonds before drinking alcohol reduces the chances of getting drunk and having hangover.
  7. A French novelist by the name of Collette has been quoted as saying, "Eating too many almonds, they add weight to BREAST."

Tips to protect data

  1. Make sure your organisation's security policies are in line with the rest of the industry's best habits.
  2. Ensure that every machine, including all computers and mobile devices, has security software installed and policies implemented before it is handed to the end-user.
  3. If a certain file contains credit card numbers, for example, tag it as such. That makes it easier for security software to recognise the file and prevent it from being sent out.
  4. Broadcast your acceptable use policies through the corporate network. Or, use pop-up dialogue boxes to remind staff when they are about to send data out to external parties.
  5. Smartphones and PDAs are an easy way to lose valuable data. Make sure such devices are locked down with the same security policies applied to your organisation's computers.
